Your first session

During this session, Liza will work with the client to develop a client history by gathering information to inform and establish treatment goals and decide what type of therapeutic approach would be most effective. The first session will last 90 minutes.

For minors accompanied by parents/guardians

The initial session will be broken up into three sections. The first 30 minutes will be with parent(s)/guardian(s) and client/minor. During this time Liza will ask about presenting problems, themes in behaviors, and shared goals. In the second 30 minutes Liza will meet with the client alone, engaging in activities such as art assessments or play to foster a safe environment and gain insight into their perspective on life stressors. In the remaining 30 minutes, Liza will meet with parent(s)/guardian(s) alone to gather additional information that is relevant to meeting the client’s goals. The session will conclude with recommendations for treatment goals, a plan for addressing the presenting problems, and answering any questions about the therapeutic process.
